Sanam takes a privacy-first approach to cookies, and this page tells you exactly what that means. In short: we use only the storage the platform needs to work and to keep you signed in safely, we do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and the way we measure how the site is used does not set a cookie or follow you anywhere. Because we use nothing that needs your consent, there is no cookie banner to click through. This policy explains what we store, why, and how you stay in control. #1. What we mean by "cookies"
1.1 A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Websites also use similar browser storage — such as local storage — to remember things between pages. This policy covers both, because what matters to you is what is stored and why, not the technical name for it.
#2. What we store, and why
2.1 We store only what the platform needs to work. There are two kinds.
2.2 Strictly necessary — sign-in and security. To keep you signed in as you move around the platform, we store a sign-in token in your browser. To protect your account and the actions you take, we use security storage, such as a token that guards against forged requests. Without these, you could not log in or use the platform safely. They are set only when you use the platform, and they are essential, so they do not need consent.
2.3 Functional — your preferences. We remember a few choices you make, such as your chosen display currency or language, so you do not have to set them each time. These make the platform easier to use.
2.4 We do not use:
- advertising or marketing cookies;
- third-party tracking or ad-network cookies;
- cookies that build a profile of you or follow you across other websites;
- third-party analytics services that set cookies in your browser.
#3. How we measure usage — without tracking you
3.1 We do want to know how the platform is used, so we can fix and improve it. We do that in a privacy-first, cookieless way, from our own first-party records — including the server logs described in our Privacy Notice. This measurement does not set a tracking cookie, does not store a personal identifier for this purpose, is not run through a third-party analytics service, and is never shared with an advertising network.
3.2 This is a deliberate design choice. It is why you see no cookie consent banner on Sanam: there is nothing running that the law requires us to ask your permission for before it starts. We use only strictly-necessary storage and privacy-preserving, cookieless measurement.
#4. If that ever changes
4.1 If we ever introduce something that does need your consent — for example a third-party tracker or an advertising cookie — we will not turn it on silently. We will add a consent choice, ask for your permission first, and give you a way to change your mind. Today there is nothing of that kind on Sanam.
#5. Staying in control through your browser
5.1 You are always in control of what your browser stores. Every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies and browser storage, either for all sites or for a single one; look under the privacy or site-settings section of your browser, or its help pages.
5.2 What to expect if you clear or block it. The sign-in and security storage in section 2.2 is needed for the platform to work. If you clear or block it, you will be signed out and may not be able to log in until you allow it again. Clearing your preferences resets them to their defaults.
#6. Changes to this policy
6.1 We update this policy if what we store changes. When we do, we change the version and the "Last updated" date. The current version is the one that applies.
